Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are some of our previous highlights:

Coverage Cup 30/01/2024

We had some strong pieces of national coverage coming through in recent weeks. First up, Venafi and Imperva shared insight with Sky News on how elections in 2024 could be impacted by AI-driven security threats. Meanwhile, Quadient’s Police FOI request on parcel theft was covered by The Telegraph as part of a story revealing how many people had presents stolen in the lead up to Christmas.

We’ve also kept the momentum going with some insightful pieces of client research. Including a great hit from the Ivalua team in The Banker, with an interview on its latest ESG report that investigated the rise of unintentional greenwashing. Elsewhere, the Scalable team’s research on the impact of poor digital experiences on employee productivity was covered in Computer Weekly, alongside many other business, HR and IT titles, such as Business Reporter and HR Director. While the NetDocuments team’s media alert highlighting the risk of insider threats to legal firms secured coverage in IT and security titles including Infosecurity, IT Pro and Tech Monitor, plus Legal IT Insider and Legal Professionals.

We have also been enjoying the fruits of our cross-agency effort to identify opportunities to share client predictions for 2024. Coverage highlights have included WalkMe, Sagacity, Imperva, Onnec, Cloudera and Dynatrace all being included in pieces across Tech Informed, analysing AI and data storage trends. Meanwhile the Harness team landed a hit in Beta News for a prediction on how AI in software development could ease skills shortages. And Ivalua shared its insights with Spend Matters into procurement trends for 2024.

Our features programmes have also started with a bang. Firstly, the NetDocuments team secured coverage in IT Pro on the use of generative AI in legal firms, while CYPHER Learning’s CEO was quoted in an Unleash.AI feature on why learning & development needs to be more inclusive.

We’ve also been writing and placing several bylined articles. The WalkMe team secured pieces in core IT titles Beta News and TechRadarPro with articles on generative AI and Hyper Productivity. Elsewhere, the CYPHER Learning team placed a piece in People Management on why AI can be the secret weapon that unleashes the talents of neurodiverse employees.

And over on the life sciences front, the Pistoia Alliance team were hot off the mark this year with pick up for news of its new Chief Portfolio Officer in Innovations and Pharmaceutical Technology and Contract Pharma. While the Phesi team secured a lengthy Q&A with the firm’s CEO on the evolution of data management in clinical development in top tier US outlet, Outsourcing Pharma.
