Whisks at the ready: Spark’s Bake Off returns – Supporting Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank
By Andy
With autumn rolling in, the nights are getting colder, but our ovens are warming up. Yes, that’s right: Spark’s Bake Off is back. Our friendly competition – inspired by the Great British Bake Off – returns better than ever for 2025. Last year saw everything from Japanese-inspired treats and café-worthy morning buns to the surreal sight of some plastic cows guarding a pile of beef sausage rolls. Get the full low-down here.
This year, we’re adding a simple but important twist. We’re supporting our local Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank. Part of the local Oasis Hub Waterloo, the organisation believes nobody in our community should have to face going hungry and gives three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people referred to them in crisis. Over the last year, the organisation distributed more than 25,000 food parcels, with almost two thirds going to families with children.
Over the next few months, the team will be donning their aprons and competing over a number of rounds, from bread week to cake week, for a spot in the grand final. Everybody in the office will be sampling the dishes, giving a score and, importantly, bringing in some items to donate to the foodbank. That means we’ll be baking for a good cause, making regular donations from the Spark team to people who need it the most.
We’ll share highlights on the blog and LinkedIn as the competition progresses. So, keep your eyes peeled!
