Spark Coverage Cup

Media relations is at the heart of a successful campaign and our team take great pride in beating their colleagues to win the weekly Spark Coverage Cup vote.

The winning piece of coverage isn’t just about circulation or credibility. A great business national or broadcast piece doesn’t always beat trade coverage – outcomes are key. How effectively was the client’s message communicated? What was the engagement like? Did it result in leads?

While earned coverage is now only part of what we do, the impact of what we deliver is often why clients choose to work with us in the first place. It’s why 80% of our clients come through referral and why some of our clients have stayed with us for over ten years.

Below are the recent highlights:

Coverage Cup 03/10/2025

It’s been another strong few weeks of results for the Spark team, with national and business titles once again leading the way. The SaaScada team landed a mammoth hit in The FT’s magazine The Banker off the back of its latest research on the real cost of legacy banking systems, where the team worked closely with the reporter to provide exclusive commentary at short notice. Meanwhile, the Nexthink team earned prominent coverage in GB News using a new report on Microsoft’s Windows 10 support, calculating that the tech giant could generate more than £5bn in extended support fees.

AI has been a consistent theme. We secured two excellent results for Harness, firstly in IT Pro, by responding swiftly to the UK Government’s AI adoption push and whether their plans go far enough, and later with The Register, who covered the unveiling of Harness’ agentic AI-driven DevOps modules. Meanwhile, the WalkMe team landed a feature in HR Magazine around Google’s £5bn UK AI investment, with its CHRO explaining how HR leaders can bridge the gap between technology and employee experiences.

We have also been driving a number of interesting cybersecurity stories. The HP Wolf team secured Infosecurity coverage for a threat report exposing new “living off the land” tactics used by threat actors, who evade detection in businesses for longer. Meanwhile, the Binalyze team made its debut in Coverage Cup with a timely Computer Weekly comment on the Kering cyber attack, driving home the importance of controlling the narrative when you come under attack – the first piece of coverage for this new client. Panaseer also added to the mix with the team securing a byline placement in Assured Intelligence, exploring why regulations and lawsuits are pushing CISOs to take out indemnity insurance.

In life sciences, the Sapio Sciences team dug deep to achieve an impressive 12 pieces of coverage for their launch of the world’s first third-generation Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), including Bio-IT World, News Medical and Manufacturing Chemist. The PacBio team also responded to major news that a new Huntington’s disease treatment had been found, with The Medicine Maker using quotes from its VP of EMEA underlining the critical role gene therapies play in finding answers for inherited diseases.
